Many Outstanding Events Take Place at Fountain Park

Beautiful Fountain Hills, outside of Phoenix and directly south of the McDowell Mountain Regional Park was named after the man-made fountain in the center of town. With a population of over 22,000 people, it was named one of the fastest growing towns in Arizona between the 1990 and 2000 censuses. With year-round sunshine, Fountain Hills features many activities that are family friendly, especially at Fountain Park, home to the town’s famous fountain!

The fountain was built in 1970 by Robert P. McCulloch and sprays water at the top of every hour between 9 am and 9 pm. While swimming and fishing are prohibited, locals and tourists enjoy the paths around Fountain Park for walking, running, biking, or skating. With 35 acres of green space, Fountain Park offers plenty of places to picnic with family and friends. Enjoy the championship disc golf course that runs through the park while children enjoy the playground and activity area off of El Lago Boulevard. Catch a show at the amphitheater also located on the park grounds or have fun in the Rotary Centennial Splash Park.

Enjoy the festivities of Oktoberfest. Delight in German music, food, beer, and contests in this free festival that takes place each year at the end of September. Admission is free for this event.

Explore one of the largest public art collections in all of Arizona with the Fall & Winter Art Walk. Walk with a guide as they lead you through 150 pieces through Centennial Circle sculpture garden. All art walks take place each Wednesday. n February take in the Fountain Hills Great Fair featuring nearly 500 artists and artisans from across the world! Included at the event are food booths and live entertainment. Admission and parking are free for this event.

The month of March brings the St. Patrick’s Day Festival where the focus is green. Irish food, Irish bagpipers, a Celtic rock band, Irish dancers and family fun atthe St. Patrick's Day festival in Fountain Hills. Visitors will enjoy music, beer, and food all while watching as the Fountain sprays green water, creating the world’s tallest emerald fountain! It's a casual community get-together with traditional foods, green beer, available for purchase, plus the town’s great fountain goes GREEN! Where else can you experience that?

12th Annual Fountain Hills Fine Art & Wine Affaire

The Thunderbird Artists Fine Art and Wine Affaire takes place every March. Partnering with the Sunset Kiwanis, this juried fine arts event also features wine and live musical entertainment. Admission is $5.00 and free for residents with proper identification.
