Make a Difference Day in Fountain Hills is all about serving others … the neighbors in the community. Amazing things can be accomplished when residents take on the challenges they see in their community.
Challenges can include kitchen cabinets and shelves that cannot be reached due to physical limitations and therefore are left unclean for years. It might include needed minor repairs where homeowners, due to financial and physical burdens, as well as lack of nearby family, are left unattended. The challenge for many of vulnerable homeowners is to remain in their homes until their life ends.
Please put your own cares and needs on hold for one morning in October in order to “Make a Difference” in the lives of some of our most susceptible residents. You are invited to leave your comfort zone, reach out and put your knowledge and some elbow grease to good use and enter the world of 60 plus residents who are your neighbor by joining fellow citizens 7:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 24 at Golden Eagle Park, 15590 E. Golden Eagle Blvd. in Fountain Hills.
The Fountain Hills Make a Difference Day will bring together volunteers from the faith community, clubs and organizations and town volunteers with a common mission to contribute where the needs exist within the town. Work sites may include raking and cleaning up yards, cleaning up and organizing garages, building wheelchair ramps for elderly homebound residents or even deep cleaning where owners cannot keep up with those duties. Let’s show our neighbors that Fountain Hills is the “Small Town with a Big Heart!” Please register to volunteer today. Register online or, pick up a registration form at the Community Center or Town Hall, or download one here.
