Gastropub Craft 64 Introduces a New Salad and New Pizza for Summer

By Lynette Carrington

Are you ready for the latest fresh and local food offerings from Craft 64 in Old Town Scottsdale? Sure, Craft 64 is always the best place in the Valley for local craft beer from just about every nook and cranny location in Arizona. But did you know Craft 64 also has a wonderful menu that is just as tempting for lunch as it is for dinner?

In one of the coolest twists on a summertime salad that we’ve seen in a long time, Craft 64 presents the Panzanella Farmer’s Market Salad. The generously sized salad is fit to be a meal and includes ripe and colorful heirloom tomatoes and cucumbers, crisp red and yellow bell peppers, house made croutons, and a tasty inclusion of shaved fennel topped with basil leaves and red wine saba dressing. Clearly a lot of thought went into this salad as the flavor profile was exceptional, with pops of sweet, tangy, mild, crunchy and soft playing together quite nicely. In fact, after finishing this salad, I have a whole new appreciation for fennel!

The latest pizza to grace the Craft 64 menu is the Special K pizza. Perfect for vegetarians or just those who appreciate a great tasting, wood-fired pizza, this tasty pie includes Craft 64’s very own house made mozzarella (made fresh each morning), parmesan, ricotta, spinach, arugula, artichoke hearts, heirloom bell peppers, lemon balm and just a kiss of cracked black pepper. It is a flavorful and satisfying pizza that pairs well with many of Craft 64 beers, and won’t leave you feeling weighed down.

Craft 64 also has its own beers that are physically brewed at SunUp Brewery and available on tap. Swann personally oversaw the creation and brewing of each signature beer. Varieties include Mr. Big, Smooove Hoperator, Wheat the People, Crafty Blond and Frolic Pale Ale. There are always 36 beers on tap at Craft 64 and every beer is from Arizona. Get them by the glass, or take home a growler!

Craft cocktails are also a delight, and just like the items on the menu, three-quarters of the spirits served at Craft 64 are locally produced spirits. This season, two stand-out cocktails include two new seasonal mules—the first is Lemon Lover, with Thumb Butte local Myer Lemon Vodka with peach bitters, fresh lemon juice and ginger beer. The second is the Pear-fect Peach mule with OHSO Local “D.I.C.K.” peach whiskey, pear puree, fresh lime juice and ginger beer.

Craft 64 is a fabulous lunch destination, and also a great place for to meet friends for cocktails or dinner. It can get pretty busy on the weekends, but after the sun goes down, the back patio is a fun place to nosh with friends. Happy Hour is 4-7 p.m. daily. Craft 64 is located at 6922 E. Main St., Scottsdale. Visit or call (480) 946-0542 for additional information.
